River Day 2022

River Day 2022 – Good, Clean, Fun – Sunday, May 1st!

South Orange River Day is an annual, community gathering to clean up our section of the Rahway River while celebrating environmental awareness and education. We are celebrating our 11th year with a family friendly river clean up featuring the return of River Curriculum Exhibits by the student scientists of South Orange Middle School!

What to bring

  • Pre-Register in advance

  • Waterproof boots, old sneakers, or footwear that you don’t mind getting wet

  • Gloves

  • Mask or PPE (if you feel you need it)

  • Curiosity and a sense of community

What not to bring

  • Flip-flops, sandals or open-toed shoes

  • Unattended children. Parental supervision is required. Think twice about children under 4 years old in the river

This is a zero waste activity so we will provide reusable collection buckets and plenty of hand sanitizer.

Check in on Sunday, May 1st, 2022, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (Rain Date May 8th) at the Skate House by the pond in Meadowland Park (off Mead St.) in South Orange. For updates follow the SOEC on Facebook or Instagram @sogreenteam or our website at https://sogreenteam.wordpress.com/
