Commit to Practice Challenge
It's that time of year again to join Three Birds Yoga Studio's "Commit to Practice" Challenge. The goal? Take 20 classes in 31 days, beginning October 1st. You'll find a commitment board in the South Orange studio where you can add your name and proudly place a bright, shiny star for each class you take. Classes can be virtual, in-studio or on-demand and workshops will count for 2 classes. If you reach 20 classes by October 31st you will receive a FREE Commit to Practice t-shirt and you'll be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a FREE month of yoga. To help you achieve your goal, you can purchase a special 20 class package for $299, only through October 3rd. This package will expire October 31st and will give you that little push of motivation you may need. If you have an existing package you can use that again after the challenge. Or sign up for the unlimited monthly membership for $139 a month and keep the moment going after October! The more we practice the more we reap the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga. Do you accept the challenge?
Yoga & Osteoporosis Workshop
Did you know, according to the CDC, more than 50% of women over 50 have osteopenia (low bone density) and 20% have osteoporosis of the neck or lumbar spine? The information available for prevention and treatment of this disease is confusing at best - Three Birds co-owner, Christina, knows this because she was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 50. We hope you'll join us for this informative and important workshop - Yoga and Osteoporosis, the benefits and risks, with Christina Helms. This workshop is a compilation of the available research about yoga and its impact on bone density, both the benefits and the risks. During our 90 minutes together, we will discuss the impact of yoga on bone health, how yoga can help keep you safe from falls as you age, and how to modify your practice to avoid injury if you have a diagnosis of low bone density. This workshop will include a yoga practice that incorporates poses that exemplify weight bearing, balance and flexibility and their modifications, so please wear comfortable clothes.

Yin & Nidra Workshop
Join Three Birds co-owner, Sarah Bodnar, for a deeply settling, embodied practice. In contrast to most other activities in our daily life Yin Yoga invites us to slow down, be still and quiet. We will hold postures for longer periods of time allowing for the connective tissue (ligaments, tendons, fascia) to soften so that we are able to move our joints more freely, find more spaciousness in our body, and leave feeling balanced both physically and mentally. This workshop will conclude with a 15 min yoga nidra, an ancient technique during which the practitioner enters a deep state of conscious relaxation. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from the external to the inner and brings us to a state of deep sleep where our senses, and mind, can relax.
