Raise a glass and support your community at South Orange Downtown’s Second Annual Beer Fest, taking place at the Sloan Street Parking Lot (12 Sloan Street). Enjoy a wide variety of craft brews from some of New Jersey’s favorite breweries—perfect for both dedicated beer fans and casual drinkers.

Proceeds from Beer Fest directly support South Orange Downtown’s mission to strengthen and promote our local business community. Your participation helps fund year-round events, public art, beautification projects, and initiatives that drive foot traffic, foster vibrancy, and keep our downtown thriving.

Spend the afternoon with friends while enjoying live music from DJ Phillip Lee, interactive games, and engaging activities. Local food vendors will be on-site with tasty bites available for purchase to pair with your brew of choice.

Enjoy the South Orange Downtown Beer Fest worry-free with childcare provided by South Mountain YMCA located at 13 Jefferson Ave in Maplewood on Sat Sept 20th!

For just $20 per child, children ages 3-10 can enjoy supervised fun while you sip and savor. Drop off starts at 1:30 PM and pick up is by 6:30 PM. Children must be potty trained.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot today. Payment will be made on site.

is the event accessible?

Beer Fest takes place in the Sloan Street Parking Lot—a large, paved lot in the heart of South Orange Downtown. All event areas are accessible via wheelchair, and sidewalks around the lot have curb cuts. The surface is mostly flat with a slight grade in some areas. There is only one entrance and one exit (in the same spot on the Sloan St side of the lot)

An ADA-accessible restroom will be available on site. Accessible parking will be clearly marked and shown on the event map.

All Village lots except the Sloan Street Parking Lot where the event will held are open and parking will be free thanks to the South Orange Parking Authority. Please check out the map below for the available parking options.

  • Is there an age limit to attend Beer Fest?

    Yes. You must be at least 21 years of age to be allowed entrance into the festival. Designated drivers must also be at least 21. You must show photo ID to be admitted (no exceptions). Sorry, but NO children, toddlers, infants or strollers are permitted.

  • Sloan Street Parking Lot (12 Sloan Street South Orange, NJ 07079)

  • We recommend that you purchase your ticket here. Once you complete the online transaction, you will be emailed a QR code. This will serve as your ticket. Please have this ready either printed or on your phone for scanning at the event entry. There is an online pre-sale. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event for full price.

  • No. Sorry but all exits are final, no one will be re-admitted for any reason.

  • Yes! Several local favorites will be on site serving up delicious eats. Stay tuned—more food vendors will be announced soon. You can also check the Brewers & Vendors page for the most up-to-date list.

  • Yes. DJ Phillip Lee will be spinning for the duration of the event.

  • General Admission ticket: includes admission plus a tasting glass ONLINE PRESALE: $45 (Day of Price: $50)

    Designated Driver ticket: includes admission ONLINE PRESALE: $15 (Day of Price: $20)

    Designated Drivers, like everyone else must be 21+ and show valid photo ID for admission and will not be permitted to drink alcohol

    VIP ticket: includes a tented space for you and your group ONLINE PRESALE: $45 (Day of Price: $50)

  • The designated driver buys a special designated driver ticket ($15 online presale), $20 The designated driver receives a different colored wristband and they do not receive a tasting glass. They are able to enjoy all the activities, but are not allowed to drink any beer. Any designated driver who is seen drinking will be escorted out immediately.

  • Attendees with a General Admission ticket can use their tasting glass to sample 2oz brews from any of the beer vendors. Note: we will not replace lost tasting glasses.

  • Yes, the entire parking lot will be fenced off and there will be one entry and one exit point by the Sloan Street circle.

  • Beer Fest is produced by the South Orange Downtown, the Village of South Orange. Thank you to all of the Village departments and agencies for helping make the festival a success.

  • Proceeds from the first-ever South Orange Downtown Beer Fest will directly support South Orange Downtown, the nonprofit organization dedicated to making South Orange a vibrant and thriving community. The funds raised will help the organization continue to support local businesses, host engaging events, and enhance public spaces through programming and placemaking initiatives. By attending the Beer Fest, you're not only enjoying great brews and entertainment, but also directly supporting the small businesses and contributing to the betterment of the downtown.
